Samsung Expopavillon

"Living Ocean, Living Coast" is the claim of the World Exposition in Yeosu, Korea, 2012. For the exhibitor Samsung, an expo pavilion was designed and built which, as a multifunctional building, forms a thematic exhibition, spatial installation and staging space and conducts various spatial dramaturgies.

This complex building was realised in only 12 months of construction time. Not only the parametric facade with over 2000 individual panels was a challenge, but also the elaborate supporting structure.

The central stage with an area-wide digital space performance, which interacts with the hourly acrobatic show, is lined by an endless ramp, which functions as a grandstand.

At the same time, the all-round ramp serves as an exhibition area, with various themed exhibitions on which visitors can stroll.

The visitor experience is complemented by theme workshops and events as well as gastronomy. As the most popular pavilion at Expo 2012, the pavilion mastered the logistics of 500 visitors per half hour.
