DMEXCO, Cologne

Benz & Ziegler Brand was appointed by the leading international music streaming company Spotify to design their exhibition stand for the prestigious DMEXCO 2019 exhibition in Cologne, Germany.

The open-floor space was created to host a number of different meeting spaces, from low coffee tables with lounge chairs for casual conversations to tables with 4 chairs for short meetings. The space was complimented by a prominent bar. Three closed-off meeting rooms were designed to host formal meetings.

Several installations were created, which exhibited the different interfaces of Spotify on an array of devices, like touch screens and audio stations. An elevated area, hidden from the ground floor, was built to host a DJ set on the final night of the fair

The primary colors of the corporate identity were amply used in all vertical surfaces of the stand. Images of the campaign played an even more central role by being printed on semi-transparent fabrics and installed on six meter high metal frames around the edges of the stand, thus encapsulating the space in a world of its own, with glimpses of the life inside through big openings. The metal frames were connected with each other with room-high shuffle logos. Finally, wood, laminate and partially grey carpet was used for the floor, interface installations and bar constructions.
